Facilitation of the seminar "Using New Media to Create Positive Change" for Amnesty International
This three-hour seminar took place in the context of Amnesty International Netherlands' "Movies That Matter" festival in March 2010. About 20 human rights defenders, film directors and Amnesty International staff and volunteers participated. In consultation with Amnesty I drafted a seminar agenda, which centered around issues related to the making and promotion of films on human rights defenders and their work. Participants shared experiences and ideas, including on the uses of new media in increasing the effectiveness of their work. Amnesty was very satisfied with my facilitation and participants found the seminar to be absolutely worthwhile.
